International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) are developing a chip card, which is inspired by the human body’s DNA.

Company hardware providers will make the network in the human body or which is known as DNA origami, to create structures on the IBM next-generation microchips. By IBM, making it an microchips this thinnest chip card and can be sold cheaply.

“This is the first demonstration that uses molecular biology to help the process in the semiconductor industry,” said Spike Narayan IBM researcher, told Reuters on Tuesday (18/8/2009).

“Basically, we want to tell if the DNA could be of inspiration in making electronic goods. Because of the complex network of DNA, there are extraordinary ability,” he added.

However, we must wait to see this smallest chip. Because, Narayan predict the longest 10 years these microchips actually finished refined and can be used by the semiconductor industry.

Previously, when many other companies began to clean up after storms battered the crisis, instead returning IBM to swallow the bitter pill with the news staff cuts.

It cuts at the company’s employees the hardware provider is not too big, but enough to affect the performance of IBM. Because as the Times of India reported on Monday (10.8.2009), as many as 200 employees at IBM United States, in the business services division will be expelled.

“Once again, we have to do the trimming of several employees at IBM. It’s really forced the company to do,” said IBM spokesman Lee Conrad.

“As we all know, the bad times were not over. Although, the situation is better than before. The advantage that we feel today, is still missing from what was targeted,: he reasoned.

Earlier, in March 2009 to IBM remain operational cost reduction efforts. IBM will buy Sun Microsystems will cut approximately 5000 employees in the United States.

Trimming is done, estimated as many as four per cent of the total number of IBM workers that total U.S. total of 115,000 people.

According to sources, these layoffs will be mostly done at IBM’s global services business, which includes outsourcing and consulting services.

According to the spokesman for the International Business Corp., IBM has a total of 398,455 workers by the end of 2008 had not told the number of employees laid off globally so far this year
